About Me

I am Laura Blankenship.  I have been working in Higher Education since the early 90s.  I began using technology in my teaching in 1997 and in 2003, made helping other faculty use technology for teaching and learning my full-time job.  This past fall, I left full-time work to go out on my own and broaden the scope of what I do.  While I still feel passionate about integrating technology into educational environments, I also want to work with communities and businesses to use technology effectively.  One thing to note, although I’m knowledgeable about hardware and software and can even get into the back end of things and do some coding if need be, I’m mostly interested in people and working with them to help them learn more about the technology that permeates our world.  Here are some of my credentials:

B.A. Rhodes College, Memphis, TN

M.A. University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR 1999

Ph.D. University of Arkansas, Fayetteville, AR 2007

From 1990-2003: taught at Indiana University, University of Arkansas, Temple University, Villanova University, and Bryn Mawr College

2003-2008: worked as Instructional Technologist at Bryn Mawr College

Have given numerous presentations on technology in education.
